What does the calculator's 'Copyediting + Proofreading' option include?

Two full passes: a copyedit for grammar, consistency, and style, then a proofread for typos and formatting errors. It doesn't include developmental editing (story and structure) or line editing (prose-level rewriting) — those are booked separately at the rates listed on the Services page.

Why does the calculator show a single editing toggle instead of separate passes?

The Essential Edit Bundle — copyediting + proofreading at $0.02/word — is the most common starting point for manuscripts that are structurally finished. If you need developmental or line editing, add those from the Services page and we'll build a custom quote.

Can I mix and match services?

Yes. Every line item in the calculator is independent. You can add or remove cover design, formatting, distribution, and marketing without affecting the editorial price. The total updates in real time.

Is the estimate binding?

No — it's a transparent starting point, not a contract. Once you submit your manuscript, we confirm the final word count and scope, then issue a formal quote. There are no surprise charges beyond what you see here.
